Defining a good (hierarchical) structure makes the Content, Users, and Permissions easy to manage and maintain.
You can set up the organisation structure via TinQwise Control > Groups
𧱠Group structure
A group can be a parent group or a subgroup.
A parent group can have several subgroups.
A subgroup can also be a parent for its own subgroups.
Why structure matters
The biggest advantage of setting up an organisation structure is the ability to target automations and permissions per group.
β Create a new parent group
π₯ Important
If your organisation uses integrations or the user importer, coordinate any ID changes with your data owner to avoid mismatches.
Go to Groups > Groups and create a new group by clicking on the blue button
In the pop up side page, fill in the required information:
Click Save.
π‘ Tip:
Keep group titles short and consistent.
π₯ Important:
Group type is mandatory. If you donβt see the right type, first create it in Groups > Types.
βοΈ Edit an existing group
Go to Groups > Groups.
Select the group from the list, then click the three dot button on the right
Update the fields shown
Click Edit group.
β Create a new sub/child group
Select the parent group in Groups > Groups.
Click the three dot menu and select Add subgroup.
Enter Group ID, Group title, and select Group type.
Click Create group.
Group permissions
Now that you have created groups, you can set up group permissions through user roles.

Good to know π
If you have a custom importer (group identifiers are coded in the backend), DO NOT CHANGE the group identifiers in TinQwise Control.
