Reporting on skills and badges

How to use the Skills tab in Reporting to see who achieved which badge, which skill category is most popular, and how achievement develops over time.

Written by Marie Xhauflair

The Skills tab in Reporting shows you how your skills feature is performing. Who achieved which badge? Which badge or category is the most popular? And what does achievement look like over time?

It works for verified skills and for any other badges you have set up, so you can see at a glance whether your skills are actually being picked up.

Where to find it

Go to Reporting > Skills.

Viewing the data

  1. Under Category, select a skill category.

  2. Click Show me!

  3. Under Skill, choose a specific skill badge if you want to zoom in on one badge.

The graphs now show the data for your selection.

✏️ Tip

Start with a whole category to get the big picture, then pick a single skill badge to see how that one is doing.

Category

The Category filter lists the skill categories you created. This includes categories used for verified skills and categories used for any other badges.

If streaks are enabled on your platform, you can also filter on streaks here.

Skill

Once you have picked a category, you can filter on the exact skill badge you want to see reporting on.

What the graphs show

After you click Show me!, you get graphs that include all the users who have achieved skill badges within your selection.

  • Achievement over time: how badges have been achieved over time for your filter selection.

  • Skill growth rate: a comparison of the achievement rate of the badges in your filter selection, so you can see which badges are achieved most.

👀 Good to know

Categories, skills and badges are all created in Control. If a category or skill does not show up in the filters, check that it has been set up there.
