With remote LTI 1.3, your content stays in the TinQwise learning platform but can be accessed directly from another LMS that supports LTI 1.3. This means learners can launch your courses from their own system without needing a separate login.

πŸ”§ What you need before you start

  • LTI feature enabled in your TinQwise platform.

πŸ”₯ Important: If this option isn’t visible, contact TinQwise Support to enable it.

  • An external LMS that supports LTI 1.3 (resource linking flow).

  • Decision on which groups in your platform will have access.

πŸ“‹ Steps to set up remote LTI 1.3

  1. Enable LTI (if not already enabled)
Contact TinQwise Support to make sure LTI 1.3 is active for your platform.

  2. Go to Content integrations

    • Navigate to Control > Content > Integrations > LTI 1.3 platforms.

  3. Create the LTI 1.3 platform connection

    • Click Create LTI platform.

    • Fill in the details from your external LMS:

      • Name (LMS name or identifier)

      • Login URL (Initiate Login URL)

      • Redirection URL

      • Connect with: choose Keyset URL or Public key

    • Click Save.

  4. Copy your platform details

    • After saving, open the platform connection and copy the:

      • Client ID

    • Share these securely with the LMS administrator.

  5. Link the connection to your activity

    • In the Settings tab, enable Make this activity available as LTI.

    • Choose LTI 1.3 as the version.

    • Select the LTI 1.3 platform you created in Step 3.

    • Save your changes.

πŸ‘€ Good to know

  • TinQwise supports resource linking flow only for LTI 1.3 β€” deep linking is not available.

  • When progress is sent from the external LMS, only completion is recorded (no partial progress or score breakdown).

  • Each LTI connection is tied to a specific target group, so set up your group structure, automations, and content before creating the connection.

  • How the external LMS displays and uses the returned data depends on its configuration.

πŸ“Œ What to check after setup

  • The activity launches correctly from the external LMS into TinQwise.

  • Completion is sent back as expected.

  • Only the intended groups can access the content.
