With remote LTI, your content is hosted on our platform but launched from another platform that supports LTI 1.1. This allows learners in that system to access your activities without a separate login.

🔧 What you need before you start

  • The LTI feature enabled in your TinQwise learning platform.

🔥 Important:

If this option isn’t visible, contact TinQwise Support to enable it.

  • An activity in our platform that you want to share externally.

  • Access to the external platform (LMS) where you will provide the connection details.

📋 Steps to set up remote LTI 1.1

  1. Go to Content integrations

    • Navigate to Control > Content > Integrations.

    • Open the LTI 1.1 tab.

  2. Create the LTI connection

    • Click Create LTI

    • Fill in the fields:

      • Name: a clear name for the connection (visible in the integrations list)

      • Add to the following groups: select the groups that should have access when launched remotely

  3. Open the connection details

    • After saving, your new LTI connection will appear in the list.

    • Click the arrow on the right of the connection row and select Edit details.

    • This will open the LTI connection panel, showing:

      • Key

      • Secret

      • LTI launch URL

  4. Share the details securely with the administrator of the external platform so they can complete the setup on their side.

  5. Test the connection from the external LMS to confirm:

    • The content launches correctly

    • Scores or progress (if applicable) are sent back as expected

👀 Good to know

  • Before you set up the LTI connection, make sure your platform is fully configured. Each LTI connection is created for a specific target group, and learners will only see the discovery stream for that group. Set up your group structure, automations, and content before hosting TinQwise LTI in an external LMS.

  • Learners accessing TinQwise via LTI can interact with all the platform’s features — not just the linked content.

  • The platform shares learner progress data regularly with the external LMS, allowing fast and accurate reporting. How this data is used depends on the external LMS.

  • You can only host TinQwise content in an external LMS using LTI 1.1.
