Reviewing an activity: a guide for reviewers

You've been asked to review an activity? Here's how to open it, leave comments and follow up

Written by Marie Xhauflair

Someone asked you to review an activity? Great! You can read through it and leave your feedback right where it belongs, on the activity itself. No need to collect remarks in an email or a separate document.

This guide is for everyone who reviews: people outside the platform, like a subject matter expert or a client, and colleagues who already work in it.

Opening the activity

If you don't use the platform

You received an email with an invitation to review. Click the button in the email and the activity opens straight away. There's no account to create and no password to remember.

The first time you open it, you're asked to fill in your name. This way everyone can see who left which comment!

👀 Good to know

Each activity has its own invitation and its own link. Asked to review three activities? You'll get three emails, so keep them until you're done

If you already work in the platform

Go to Content > My Reviews. Here you find every activity you've been asked to review. Each tile shows how many comments are still open, click a tile to open the activity.

✏️ Tip

If your email address was already in the platform, you simply log in the way you always do. Everything you had stays the same

Finding your way around

You see the activity as a preview, with the Comments panel next to it. Click through the activity just like a learner would.

You only see the activity you were invited to. You can read it and comment on it, but you can't change or publish the content, and you don't see anything else in the platform.

Leaving a comment

There are two kinds of comments, depending on what your feedback is about.

On one slide

Is your feedback about one specific part, like a title, a paragraph, an image or a question? Go to that slide and type your comment in the box at the bottom of the panel. A small slide tag above the box shows which slide your comment will be attached to, so everyone knows exactly what you mean.

On the whole activity

Is your feedback more general, for example about the flow, the tone or the length? Click the x on the slide tag before you type. Your comment then applies to the whole activity.

✏️ Tip

Keep one remark per comment. That makes it easy for the team to handle and resolve each point one by one

Replying and resolving

You can read every comment on the activity, also the ones other people left. Click Reply under a comment to answer or ask a follow-up question, the whole conversation stays together in one thread.

Once a point has been handled, the comment can be resolved with the tick next to it. It then moves from the Open tab to the Resolved tab. You can resolve your own comments, comments from others are resolved by the team.

Staying up to date

You don't have to keep checking the activity. When someone replies to one of your comments, you get an email about it, that's your cue to come back and have a look.

Want to hear about every new comment on the activity, not only replies to yours? Switch on the bell at the top of the Comments panel. Every notification email also has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, if you want to stop them again.

When your link stops working

Your access ends when the person who invited you closes the review round. After that, the link in your email no longer works. Still need to have a look? Ask them to invite you again, you'll receive a new link.

👀 Good to know

Your comments stay on the activity, also after your access has ended, so none of your feedback gets lost
