Need to change a journey that learners can already use? Journeys work differently from programmes, so it helps to know what happens when you save.
How changes in a journey work
Click Save my changes in the top right corner to store your changes. Changes you do not save are not stored.
Once saved, your changes are live right away for learners who have access to the journey.
There is no draft version that you can finish first and publish later.
A journey has no Publish or Unpublish button. You do not publish the journey itself.
đ§ Be careful
Adding, moving or removing an activity and clicking Save my changes updates what learners see straight away. Check your change before you save.
How learners get access to a journey
For a journey on its own, you give learners access with an automation. You can find the Automations tab on the journey page.
Want to know how? Read Unlock journey/ section action.
For a journey inside a programme, learners get access through the programme. You can keep them out of the journey by locking it.
Preparing changes without learners seeing them
For a journey on its own: work on a copy
Go to Content > Journeys and open the journey.
Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Duplicate journey.
Make your changes in the copy and click Save my changes.
When the copy is ready, give learners access to it with an automation, instead of the original.
Learners keep using the original journey until you make the switch.
For a journey inside a programme: lock it
Go to Content > Programmes and open the programme.
Click the lock icon on the journey, so learners do not have access.
Make your changes.
Unlock the journey when it is ready.
đ Good to know
Locking is set up per journey. Read how in Setting up group-based visibility within a programme or Setting up time-based visibility within a programme.
Publishing, unpublishing and archiving
You publish and unpublish programmes, with the button in the top right corner of the programme.
A journey on its own can be archived. Use the three-dot menu and select Archive journey.
A journey inside a programme is saved as part of the whole programme, so you cannot archive it separately.
