Editing impact survey questions

Written by Marie Xhauflair

Impact surveys come with a default set of questions, but you can fully customise them to better reflect your programme goals. You can edit, add, or remove questions at any time.

🚧 Be careful

Impact survey 1 and Impact survey 2 are always linked. Any change you make to one is automatically applied to the other. This keeps your before-and-after questions consistent so your data stays comparable.

How to edit impact surveys?

You have two ways to get there.

From all activities

  1. Go to Studio > Activities

  2. Search for [Programme name] Impact survey-1 or Impact survey-2

  3. Open the activity to start editing

From the programme view

  1. Open the Programme

  2. Find the Impact survey and click the pencil icon ✏️

  3. You will be taken directly to the survey editor

Question types available

When adding a new question, you can choose from four types:

  • Mood Question (1-5 Rating) -- learners rate on a scale with mood indicators

  • Scale Question -- learners rate on a numeric scale (this is the default type)

  • Multiple Choice Text Question -- learners choose from predefined text options

  • Open Question -- learners type a free-text response

Adding and removing questions

  • You can add as many questions as you like

  • You can remove any question that is no longer relevant

✏️ Tip

Keep your impact surveys concise. A shorter survey leads to higher completion rates. Focus on the questions that matter most to your programme goals.
