Migrating your activities to Studio is a simple and straightforward process. This guide is designed to help you, especially if you're managing a large platform with an extensive library of content already created in Content Builder. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth transition to Studio where you can continue to enhance and grow your learning materials.

Migration process

Step 1: Navigate to Content Builder on the specific page where you wish to edit an activity or a module folder.

Step 2: Click on "Push to TinQwise LXP." You'll be presented with two options for pushing your content: one for the regular push to Control and the other for migrating the content to Studio.

  • Push to Control: This option keeps the content within the current Content Builder and Control ecosystem, allowing for updates and management in the familiar environment.

  • Migrate to Studio: Select this option to migrate your content to Studio. Here's what happens when you choose "Push to Studio":

    • The activity or folder you're working on in Content Builder will be prepared for migration.

    • Studio will create a new version of the activity or the entire folder structure.

πŸ‘‰ Migrating an activity does not create a copy of the activity. It simply creates a Studio version so that you can follow the changes that are made after the migration in Studio version history.

Step 3: After pushing your activities to Studio, navigate to Control > Content > Activities. You'll notice that the activity or folder has been copied or created in Control, signifying that the migration process is successful.

Depending on the volume of content, the migration might take a bit of time. Please be patient to see all your folders populate in Control.

Step 4: With your content now in Studio, you're all set to start editing your activities. Post-migration, continue your edits in Studio to keep your content consistent and leverage advanced features. Studio offers a more flexible and powerful environment for creating learning experiences.

πŸ‘€ Good to know:

  • All associated media and documents are automatically transferred, available under Control > Content > Assets.

  • Limitation: Due to their specific functionalities, smart exam activities cannot be migrated to Studio. Please plan accordingly for any content that relies heavily on smart exams.

  • Limitation: Any of the Guidance content (e.g., FAQs, Intros, Mood surveys etc.) cannot be migrated since they are not yet available in Studio.

  • Limitation: Studio does not support embedding images directly within text fields to ensure consistency and integrity of the template design.

    • WHY? When images are inserted into text rather than designated image fields, we compromise our ability to present the image appropriately to learners.

❓ FAQ

I don't have Studio enabled yet. Can I still migrate my content?

To migrate content to Studio, you must first enable Studio on your platform. Navigate to Control > Settings > Features, find Studio in the feature list, and enable it. Once Studio is active, you can start the migration process for your content.

Do I need to make any changes in Control after migrating my content?

No manual updates are required in Control after your content is migrated. The activities available to learners will remain unaffected by the migration process. There's no need for manual intervention to replace or edit activities, widgets, or other elements.

Can I still edit my content in Content Builder after migrating it?

You can always edit your changes in Content Builder even after migrating the content to Studio. However, we recommend using Studio for all edits. If you make changes in Content Builder and push the activity again, your changes in Studio will be overwritten.

Some of my team members have access to Content Builder but not to Control. How can they continue editing content without accessing sensitive user data in Control?

Upon migrating to Studio and gaining access, content creators will be limited to working within Studio for editing purposes. They won't have access to other tabs or the ability to view sensitive user data within Control. This ensures a secure environment for content creation while maintaining privacy and data protection standards. For more information, please refer to the help article.

This migration process is designed to be as effortless as possible, allowing you to take advantage of Studio's features without losing the work you've already created in Content Builder. If you encounter any issues or have questions during the migration, don't hesitate to ask for support.
