Email statuses explained
Each email has a status that reflects its delivery state.
Processing: The email has been received and is in the process of being sent.
Delivered: The email has successfully reached the recipient's mail server.
Bounced: The mail server declined the email permanently, typically indicating an issue with the recipient's email address.
Dropped: The email was discarded by the recipient's mail server.
Blocked: A temporary issue prevented the email server from accepting the message. This specific email won't be resent, but future messages to this address will be attempted.
Deferred: Initial delivery attempts were unsuccessful. The system will retry sending for a few more hours before marking it as "bounced" if unsuccessful.
Unknown: No data is available for this email.
Email queueing behaviour
When large volumes of emails are sent, delivery is rate-limited to ensure system stability.
If more than 2000 emails are sent, additional emails are placed in a queue
Queued emails receive the status Queued
Each day, the system sends the oldest 1000 queued emails
Remaining emails stay in the queue until processed
🔥 Important
This limit helps prevent emails sent from TinQwise from being flagged as spam or blocked by mail providers.
By controlling the sending volume, email deliverability and sender reputation are protected.
Good to know
If an email is marked as bounced or dropped, the recipient will not receive further emails for 7 days
If an email shows as delivered, but the user did not receive it, advise them to check:
Spam folder
Junk mail
