You cannot impersonate pending or suspended users and other admins.
Progress and data from the impersonation session will be saved.
How to impersonate a user?
The impersonate feature empowers you to explore the learning platform through the eyes of a specific user, providing a range of benefits for your design and troubleshooting endeavours. Let's learn how to make the most of this feature.
There are two ways to impersonate a user:
Impersonating users directly from the learning platform
Impersonating users via Tinqwise Control
Option 1. Impersonating users directly from the learning platform
Step 1. Locate the toolbar button in the bottom left corner of your learning platform.
Step 2. Expand the toolbar by clicking on the icons.
Step 3. Start typing the email address of the user you want to impersonate.
Step 4. Click on the orange "Impersonate" button next to the selected user. The page will refresh, and you will be redirected to the impersonated version of the platform.
💡 Remember, you will see the impersonation bar in orange while impersonating a user. To minimize the bar, click on the dash symbol.
Step 5. To stop impersonating and return to your account, click on the "Release User" button located on the impersonation bar. The page will refresh again, and you will regain access to your platform as yourself.
Option 2: Impersonating users via Tinqwise Control
Step 1. Go to Tinqwise Control and navigate to the "Users" section.
Step 2. Click on the user to access their profile and custom details.
Step 3. In the upper right corner, click on the menu. Select "Impersonate."
Step 4. A new tab will open, and you will now experience the learning platform as the impersonated user.
During impersonation, you'll notice the orange impersonation bar at the bottom of the page, indicating that you are in impersonation mode.
Step 5. When you're ready to finish impersonating, remember to release the user by clicking on the "Release User" button at the bottom of the page.
