This article answers the most commonly asked questions about interpreting trends data in TinQwise Control.

The Trends tab in Reporting > Trends is your go-to place to monitor platform health. It combines user counts, feedback scores, and behavioural graphs to help you understand what’s working, when users are active, and how engagement changes over time.

πŸ“Š Overview: key platform statistics

At the top of the Trends tab, you'll see a set of headline metrics. These give a 30-day snapshot of your platform’s performance.

  • Users: total unique users on your platform

  • Engaged users: learners who answered at least one question

  • Active users: learners who logged in at least once

  • Bites: completed learning content

  • Answers: questions answered

  • Journeys: learning paths started


How should I understand the data on engaged users?

An engaged user is a user who has answered at least one question in the past 30 days. As with active users, the first graph provides factual data, and the second one shows a trend. Watch out for peaks and drops.

Peaks are often observed when:

  1. New content is introduced on the platform.

  2. An active learning campaign is running.

  3. Users receive an email directing them back to the platform.

Drops usually occur when:

  1. The holiday season commences.

  2. Users are unable to find time for learning due to offline tasks.


What does the data on active users mean?

An active user is someone who has logged in at least once in the last 30 days. The first graph presents daily active users while the second graph shows a trend based on monthly averages. Exact figures and dates can be seen by hovering over the graph.

Ideally, the trend should be steady or increasing, indicating more users are visiting your platform regularly. Be vigilant for sudden drops or downward trends - these are typically explained by seasonal holidays.

Below, you'll find another graph showing accumulated data from day 1 to day 30.

Ideally, this graph should display a consistent pattern, suggesting that platform visits remain stable throughout the year.


What does the data on bites represent?

The figures you see represent the total number of completed activities. For example, if activity A is completed 200 times and activity B is completed 20 times, the hover will display 220 completed activities.

A 45-degree slope suggests a steady increase over time. A steeper slope indicates a burst of completion, while a less steep curve suggests a slowdown in completion. This graph can help you gauge the effectiveness of your new content, campaign, or notification flow.


How should I interpret the data on weekly participation?

Hovering over the different columns provides detailed information. This data gives insight into the popularity of specific days and timeslots, indicating when your learners prefer to use the platform.

You can leverage this information when planning for:

  1. Releasing new content.

  2. Launching a learning campaign.

  3. Sending out notifications or reminders.

πŸ’‘ Note: 'User activity access' is determined while a user is accessing the platform. In addition, user activity access for all users is assessed every weekend. This means that if automation to unlock content is adjusted, users who have not logged in to the platform will still reflect the change (or not, as the case may be).

These are based on learner responses collected in the last 30 days. Use them to understand how users feel about their experience and whether learning is meaningful.
