With learner budget, learners can buy activities using credits. Activities that require credits show a small icon and the price on the tile. You choose which activities cost credits and how many, then add credits to learners individually or with automations.
What is the learner budget
Learners see the credit price on the activity tile.
Clicking a priced activity opens a pop-up to confirm the purchase.
If a learner does not have enough credits, the pop-up explains that the budget is insufficient.
Learners can check their current budget on their user profile.
Set a price on an activity
Go to Control > Content > Activities.
Open the activity you want to price.
In the User budget box, click the pencil icon.
Set a Price.
Add a Description if you like. This text is shown before the learner purchases.
Click Save in the user budget box.
Click Save on the activity.
Grant budget to an individual
Go to Control > Users.
Select the user.
Click the blue pencil to edit details.
Edit the Budget field.
Click Save.
Grant budget to groups with automations
Go to Control > Behaviour > Automations.
Click Create new automation.
Enter a name.
Choose the event type and conditions for when credits should be granted. Examples:
Check periodically with Is group to grant budget based on group membership.
Activity is completed with Is activity in event to grant budget as a reward for finishing an activity.
Add the action: Grant budget.
Description: write a note for the transaction history. Learners do not see this.
Credits: set the amount to add.
Recipient source: choose self to grant to a specific user, or event > user to grant to any user who meets the conditions.
Click Save on the automation.
Good to know
Learners are not automatically notified when credits are added.

Create a notification that triggers with your Grant budget automation so learners know their balance changed.
Prices are set per activity. You can change the price any time, then Save the activity.
Learners see their current budget on their profile.
FAQ
Can learners refund a purchase?
No, we do not supporting refunding a purchase. However, it is possible to add more credit to the specific user (see above: Grant budget to an individual) Follow your internal refund process if available.
Can I combine budgets with visibility rules?
Yes. Use visibility and access settings as usual; pricing only applies once a learner can see the activity.
Does changing a price affect past purchases?
No. Credits already spent remain spent.
