Written by Marie Xhauflair

This article explains how to set up the workflow for granting a certificate to learners after they complete a Session.

A certificate is issued automatically once a learner has completed the session by attending all required events.

✅ Steps to enable certificates for a session

  1. Create a session in Studio (👉 More information here)

  2. Create a certificate in Studio. (👉 More information here)

  3. In Control, add the session to a Widget to make it visible to learners (👉 More information here)

  4. Create an automation to unlock the certificate once the session is completed (👉 More information here).

    1. Event: Activity is completed

    2. Condition: Group applied

    3. Action: Grant certificate

  5. Create a section within a session in the LXP, make sure the “Attendance must be confirmed by the host” setting is enabled. (👉 More information here).

    1. This ensures certificates are only issued once attendance is confirmed.

🧑‍🎓 Learner flow

  1. Learners register for a section of the session

  2. The session takes place (one or more events within the section)

  3. The trainer/admin confirms attendance via the section overview

🎓 The certificate will be granted when:

  • ⏰ The final event in the section has ended

  • ✅ Attendance has been confirmed for all events by the trainer/admin

  • 🧩 The automation conditions for unlocking the certificate are met
