Integrating SCORM activities into the TinQwise learning platform allows you to seamlessly add external content while leveraging TinQwise’s robust tools for engagement, tracking, and personalisation.

SCORM content, like any other activities, can be included in journeys, spotlighted on discovery streams, or featured in activity sliders. This flexibility makes it easy to blend internal and external learning resources to support diverse learning goals and enhance employee development.

💡 Good to Know Before You Start

  • Supported Formats: The platform supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 formats.

  • File Naming: File naming is crucial when working with SCORM files. Make sure your .zip file has no spaces or periods in its name. If you have multiple SCORM files containing the same activity in different languages, add an underscore and the language code at the end of each file name.

    For example:

    • GdprActivity_en.zip

    • GdprActivity_fr.zip

When uploading, select the correct language for each file so the platform recognises it as a single activity with multiple language options. Similar to TinQwise Content Builder activities, if a user changes their language preference, the SCORM activity will display in their chosen language.

Tip: If your SCORM package includes all languages and prompts users to select a language within the activity, choose "Use for all languages" in Step 4 below.

📖 How to Upload Your SCORM Package

Step 1: In Control, go to Content > Activities.

Step 2: Click Upload external content in the top right corner.

Step 3: Select the .zip file from your computer.

Step 4: Choose the language this SCORM file should be used for. If the package includes all languages, select "Use for all languages".

Step 5: Click Upload file. Upload time may vary depending on file size.

Step 6: Once uploaded, find your activity under Content > Activities and click it.

Step 7: Click the pencil icon in the top right corner to adjust the title, add an activity tile image, and set the duration. You can also add a label, similar to other activity formats, and select an icon (default is a book, matching the learning bite icon).

❓ Need to Update an Existing SCORM Package?

To update your SCORM package with a new version:

  1. Ensure the file name matches the existing version exactly.

  2. Follow Steps 1-5 above. The platform will overwrite the existing version, retaining any attached widgets and automations.

Note: The title displayed to users may reset after an update, so check and adjust as needed.
