Content guideline for the MPC test - right/wrong feedback Template

The MPC text template asks a multiple choice question with text answers. Learners pick one or more answers and get right or wrong feedback.

Setting it up

You set up this template in the left panel and directly in the preview in Studio. The numbers in the screenshots match the numbers in the text.

In the left panel

1. Show instructions (checkbox)

  • Shows an instruction line under the question, such as "Select the correct answer".

  • Uncheck it to hide the line.

2. Allow multiselect (checkbox)

  • Lets learners select more than one answer.

  • Leave it unchecked when there is only one correct answer.

3. Display social answers (checkbox)

  • After answering, learners see how often each answer was picked by other learners, in percentages.

  • The Studio preview does not show these percentages.

In the preview

You edit the image, the question, the answer options and the feedback directly in the preview.

✏️ Tip

Use the ?, ✓ and × buttons above the preview to switch between the question, the correct feedback and the incorrect feedback.

Question

  1. Image: click the camera icon to add an image above the question. Choose one of these options:

    • Upload image: upload an image from your computer

    • Generate with AI: create an image with AI

    • Select from library: use an image you uploaded before

    • Edit alt text: describe the image for learners who use a screen reader

  2. Heading: a short heading above the question.

  3. Description: extra context before the question. When it is empty, the preview shows "Add text".

  4. Question: the question learners answer.

  5. Instruction line: shown when Show instructions is on.

  6. Answer options: click a text to edit it. Click the circle in front of an option to mark it as the correct answer.

  7. Select an option and use the arrow up or arrow down button to move it, or the red trash button to delete it.

  8. Click the + box below the last option to add an option. The default text of a new option is "Option".

Feedback

  1. Click ✓ to see the correct feedback, or × to see the incorrect feedback.

    1. The default correct feedback is "Absolutely correct!" with the text "Your expertise is shining through."

    2. The default incorrect feedback is "Not quite right" with the text "Take a moment to reflect on your choice and give it another go."

  2. The preview shows the correct option in green, or a wrong option in red.

  3. Click the title or the text of the feedback to edit it.

Why use the MPC text template?

  • Learners get immediate, specific feedback based on whether they answered correctly or not.

  • It works well for knowledge checks where there is a clear right or wrong answer.

  • It helps learners understand what they got right and where they need to improve.
