The direct video is a simple activity format where the learner is required to watch a video to complete the activity.

Fields

Below fields can be filled into the content builder.

Content ID*

A unique identifier for the activity. Only shown in the content builder.

Title (text only)*

This is the activity title shown within the activity, as well as on the activity tile and spotlighted activity (if applicable).

Image*

Image uploader for JPG, PNG, GIF. Shown on the activity tile and spotlighted activity (if applicable).

Video*

The video shown at the top of the activity. Choose between two types of videos:

  • Video URL

URL (e.g. from Vimeo, YouTube). These videos cannot be styled since they will adopt the styling of the video player of whatever website they are coming from.

Tip: If you don't want YouTube to automatically play the next video you can add the following text to the and of the url: ?autoplay=0&rel=0

    E.g. "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUFJJNQGwhk" becomes "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUFJJNQGwhk?autoplay=0&rel=0"

Tip2: If you want a YouTube video to start and/or stop at a specific time, you can add the parameters start=SECONDS and end=SECONDS to the URL.
E.g. If you want a video to start at 7 seconds and stop at 27 seconds, use the following format:
    https://www.youtube.com/embed/oUFJJNQGwhk?start=7&end=27
This URL can then be used in the platform.'

  • Video upload

    • Video = Video uploader for MP4 with H.264 codec.

    • Thumbnail = Image uploader (JPG, PNG, GIF) for a video thumbnail.

Text (rich text)

Some explanatory text that supports bulleted or numbered lists, hyperlinks, bold and italic texts.
