Mood Surveys are meant to check employees' well-being at specific times of their learning journey. They can be useful both as a tool that enables a snapshot view of how employees are doing, as well as for gaining feedback on their learning experience or the user-friendliness of the platform. In this article, you can learn how to create and automate them.

First, you need to create a Mood Survey in the Content Builder, which you can later manage and automate in Control. Let's take a look at the steps involved.

Step 1. Create a Mood Survey in the Content Builder.

Step 2. Push it to Control.

Step 3. Add it to the Discovery stream as a widget.

Step 4. Set up automations to define conditions (such as specific timing)

Step 5. Create a "Mood survey completed" notification to send to the manager. (Optional)

Step 6. Results appear in the manager's dashboard. (Optional)

Now let's look at the steps one by one.

Step 1. Create a Mood Survey in the Content Builder. Check out this article for a detailed instructions on content creation:

Step 2. Push the Survey to TinQwise Control when you're ready.

Step 3. Add Mood Survey to the Discovery Stream as a widget

Create a widget in the Discovery Stream per Mood Survey and add the Mood Survey activity.

Step 4. Define the conditions (such as specific timing) in Automations

Create an automation ( Check periodically), in which you define the conditions when and to whom this Mood survey should show up. As a Condition, you can set a completion of a certain activity or journey as a time condition, among other options. As an Action, unlock both the Mood survey widget AND the Mood survey activity. It is also possible to create an (email) notification in Action by selecting 'Notify user' in the options.

💡Note: the Mood survey is set to completed once the user has filled it out, and it won't appear again unless you create an automation for repetition. To do that, you need to duplicate the automation and change the time condition in the new automation.

Step 5. Create a "mood survey completed" notification to send to the manager

Create an automation (Check periodically) to send a notification to the manager (with the right group permissions: 'manage_members', 'reporting', 'view_members') whenever a user has completed a Mood survey.

Set the Condition to 'Is activity ', select your mood survey activity and set the 'completion status' to 'completed'. Then as an Action, add 'Notify user', enter a Title, an in-app message text and (optional) an e-mail text. Check the box “to_manager” and select “Direct manager”. Recipient is “user” and User source is “event_user”. In this text, your can explain where to find the results/answers.

Step 6. Results appear in the managers dashboard

For reporting purposes, you create a journey in TinQwise Control named Mood surveys, for example, and put the Mood survey(s) in there.

When a Mood survey is completed, the manager receives a notification.

By clicking on Reporting, the manager can see all the users in the group they have a permission for. Here they can see the employees' general progression, as well as any mood survey that they completed. A coloured emoticon by a user's profile picture indicates that a survey has been completed.

Click on the user and scroll down to see the section titled 'Mood surveys' to see their answers.
