When a learner completes a Learning bite that requires grading, you'll be notified to review their submission. This article walks you through how to find and grade pending submissions.
Getting notified
When a learner submits an activity that needs grading, you'll receive a notification.
Look for the red dot on More in the top navigation
Click More > Grading to go directly to the grading overview
You can also check your notifications by going to More > Notifications, where you'll see a "Ready for grading!" message.
Finding pending submissions
The grading overview has two tabs: Pending and Graded.
Pending: submissions that are waiting for your review
Graded: submissions you have already graded
The page shows how many submissions are waiting at the top (e.g. "1 submission waiting for review").
You can search by learner name or activity name using the search bar.
Grading a submission
In the Pending tab, click on the submission you want to review
The activity opens in review mode. Scroll through to read the learner's answers
When you're ready to grade, click the Grade button in the top-right corner
A pop-up appears: Please grade this activity
Select one of the four grade options:
๐ Fail
๐ Pass
๐ Good
๐ Excellent
Optionally, write a personal message in the Give an explanation to the student field
Click Submit
โ๏ธ Tip
A personal comment can make a big difference. Even a short sentence explaining your grade helps the learner understand what they did well or what to improve next time.
After grading
Once you submit, the submission moves from the Pending tab to the Graded tab. The Graded tab shows:
The learner's name
The activity name
The date it was graded
The grade label (e.g. "Excellent")
Whether a comment was left
The learner is notified automatically that their submission has been graded.
๐ Good to know
You can only see submissions from learners in the groups you manage. If a submission isn't showing up, check with your admin that your roles are set up correctly on the right group.
