Sure, learners can really benefit from role-play scenarios:

  • It’s practical: Learners get to apply skills in real-time simulations

  • It’s contextual: You define the setting so it fits your environment

  • It’s real: The interaction feels like what actually happens at work

You can now build AI-generated role-play exercises that let learners practice conversations like:

  • Giving feedback

  • Upselling

  • Handling angry customers

💡 Important to note:

The role-play activity is only available if NOW is enabled.

How to create a role-play activity

  1. Go to Content > Activities

  2. Click Create new activity

  3. Select Role play from the activity type options

Customise the context to match real-life work

Each scenario can be tailored with a specific context, for example:

  • “A customer asks for two bags instead of one”

  • “An employee missed a deadline”

  • “A customer is upset about a late delivery”

This helps the AI generate more relevant and engaging dialogue.

To do this:

  1. Choose the right Scenario

  2. Add the Scenario context to guide the AI

  3. User uploaded image

👀 Note:

The same scenario can behave differently for each learner, as it is AI generated. It will keep the same theme and structure.

🔄 Switch between scenarios easily

Want to try a different skill focus? You can switch between:

  • Upselling

  • Resolving customer conflict

  • Employee feedback

🔥 Important:

Switching will clear any existing scenario context. You’ll get a confirmation popup before anything is lost.

💡 Tip

If you want multiple scenarios, create more role play activities!

Save, publish and set up automations

Once the role-play activity is set up:

  1. Click Save and publish

  2. Add it to a programme or journey

  3. Or share it as a standalone activity
