If you're translating lots of content or working with external translators, you can export and import translation files (.po format). This lets you manage multiple languages more efficiently.

๐Ÿ“ค How to export translations

For a single activity:

  1. Go to Control > Activities.

  2. Open the activity you want to translate.

  3. Click the translation button in the bottom-right corner.

  4. Select Export translation.

For multiple activities:

  1. Go to Control > Activities.

  2. Select the checkboxes for the activities you want to export.

  3. Click the dotted menu in the top-right corner.

  4. Choose Export translations.

๐Ÿ“ Where to find your exported files

After exporting:

  1. Go to Control > Content > Translations > Export Queue.

  2. Look for your latest export.

  3. Download the ZIP file, which contains a .po file for each language.

โœ๏ธ Note:

  • Refresh the page if you donโ€™t see your latest export right away.

  • Files come as a ZIP with .po files for each language.

๐Ÿ“ฅ How to import translations

  1. Prepare a ZIP file that only includes .po files for each language.

  2. Go to Control > Content > Translations > Import.

  3. Drag and drop your file, then click Start import.

  4. Monitor the status directly on the page.

Once imported, the translations will be available in your activity. Use the language picker to view, edit, and publish.

๐Ÿ’ก Only ZIPs containing .po files will be accepted.

Good to know ๐Ÿ‘€

  • Each language is independent: updates to the default version wonโ€™t sync automatically.

  • Always save and publish after importing to make translations live.

  • Use export/import when working with external translators or localization services.
